Frederick Launches Process to Build Affordable Housing on County Land

Frederick recently published an ROI for developers interested in developing affordable housing on county lands.

To help address the need for affordable housing, Frederick County recently requested information from potential developers to gauge their interest in, and ideas for, affordable housing on a County-owned property in Frederick. County Executive Jessica Fitzwater said the results of the Request for Information will guide the next steps of the process for the land, which is next to the Prospect Center on Himes Avenue.

According to the press release:

“This means affordable housing developers will have an opportunity to tell the County how we can best use that land to meet the needs of our working families, veterans or seniors,” said County Executive Fitzwater. “It is incredibly important that we grow our community in the right areas and in the right ways.”
